Food and motorcycles. What do the two seemingly unrelated pursuits have in common? Well, tune in to listen to Allan Karl’s fascinating story as he recounts his search for truth and his ultimate dream of exploring the vast world. He reveals how he intertwined his passion for food and motorcycles together as he traveled solo across five continents for a remarkable three years on his trusted motorcycle. After facing a significant crossroads in his personal life, he courageously decided to sell everything he owned. With determination, he rode his BMW an impressive 62,000 miles through 35 diverse countries, experiencing both exhilarating highs and challenging lows throughout his incredible adventure. This journey was so profound that he felt compelled to chronicle it all in his new book, “Forks: A Quest for Culture, Cuisine and Connection.” During the episode, host Jim Martin engages Allan in a conversation, asking him to elaborate on how he came to write a book that beautifully blends the themes of motorcycles and food. Believe it or not, there is indeed a meaningful connection between the two.
