Ted Simon has been a motorcycle travel mentor for riders and adventurers around the world for decades. Countless times we’ve heard from people who have said that his book inspired them or that they consulted with him before they travelled or that he helped them write their own book.

Ted, who has been called the ‘grandaddy’ and ‘godfather’ of long distance motorcycle travel, was a journalist that wanted to see more of the world, and the most economical and exciting way to do it was by motorcycle. He travelled the world in the 1970’s, sharing his journey and experiences in Jupiter’s Travels, “a best seller since it was first published in 1979”. In 2001, when he was 70 years old he travelled the world by motorcycle again, following almost the same route as he had done before. And now, as he turns 90 this year, he is still riding and still writing.

Find out more about Ted on his website Jupitalia.

Everything is either mundane or miraculous, depending on how you look at it.
