Louisa Swaden took up motorcycling when she was just 17 years old, mainly as a means to get to work. She got her full license, but with a busy life in the publishing field and life in general, Louisa stopped riding for over 20 years. She had a great job in the publishing industry, but never felt quite fulfilled, so a few years ago she began to search for what happiness was, what made her smile. She researched, exercised and meditated until she came to the conclusion that you are responsible for your own happiness.

Louisa took a sabbatical from work and went on a trip, sailing from the Caribbean to New York and then riding a motorcycle through the United States. On the trip she rediscovered her love of riding and when she got back to the UK she bought an Indian Scout.

She never did return to her publishing job, but instead Louisa has found a lifestyle that makes her happy… she’s ridden in many of the countries in Europe, started writing articles for magazines, started a blog and created a Youtube channel.

This month, Louisa is doing the ultimate challenge… racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats with a team having a go at setting a world land speed record. Although she has little experience in racing, Louisa is up for the challenge… it’s something that makes her happy.

We’ve all heard the saying that life is short. Louisa says, “Time is the most valuable thing we have and when it’s gone… it’s gone”.
