You’ve likely watched, or at least heard of the iconic motorcycle television series, Long Way Up and Long Way Round, produced by motorcyclists Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor. In those series, they openly shared their raw experiences, taking the viewer on their adventures with them. The series inspired motorcyclists around the world to just get out and follow their dreams of travelling by motorcycle.

It’s been 13 years since their last production of Long Way Down, but good friends Charley and Ewan are back again. This time they rode prototype electric Harley-Davidson LiveWires from the furthest point in South America, Ushuaia, to Los Angeles. And along for the ride with them were their longtime collaborators, directors David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, who followed them driving electric Rivian pick up trucks.

For now, you can watch their latest series, Long Way Up, on Apple TV+. The first three episodes premiered on September 18 and there’s a new episode out every week. If you don’t have Apple TV+, the cost of signing up for a subscription for 4.99 for a month is well worth it to watch the series (this is not an Apple pitch) or find a friend Apple TV that has a comfortable couch where you can binge watch the released episodes.

Adventure Outside of the Box - Billy Ward

Billy Ward, also known as Billy Biketruck, is a well recognized name in adventure motorcycle travel, synonymous with Charley Boorman - he’s Boorman’s right hand man for many things, but behind the scenes, there is the little known story about where Billy came from, and how he got to be so important for Boorman, and so involved in the motorcycle industry. But, this story is not for the squeamish, it involves castrating a lamb, a divorce, a quick print business card machine-  all oiled down with a liberal application of Billy’s silver tongue and how all of that landed him at the Long Way Round headquarters and onward and upward.
