On this episode of Rider Skills, Coach Ramey Stroud teaches two methods to steer your motorcycle using your rear wheel.
1/ Brake Slide (or Skid Steering)
2/ Power Slide
Coach Ramey walks through his step by step method for you to practice on your own. Beginning with basic maneuvers, mastering each one before moving onto the next, what Ramey calls “progressive loading”, a method of learning that builds skills one at a time with each skill being the entry for the next level up.
These two skills should make you a better rider by adding new skills sets, improving confidence and understanding of motorcycle dynamics.
Coach Ramey Stroud operates a world class motorcycle training centre from his 60 acre ranch in Oregon. He's a former desert racer, rally and enduro rider, has completed several IronButt events. He works with professional racers and endurance riders, as well as adventure riders.
