On this episode of RAW, we discuss recognizing and resolving conflicts while travelling, whether it’s with someone you started the trip with or someone you meet along the way and decide to ride with.
• Common sources of conflict include differing riding styles, daily routines, decision-making, or budget mismatches.
• How to communicate effectively on the road, ways to compromise, when to take space, and how to reset after tension or disagreement.
• Should you consider how well you know the person before travelling with them?
• How do you know when it’s time to part ways — whether it's simply a mismatch or something more serious?
• Should you travel with your own gear — camping kit, tools, navigation, backup funds — so you’re self-sufficient if things don’t work out?
We recently released two episodes on ARR featuring two riders who encountered issues while travelling from Atlanta to Alaska together. They ended up separating and didn’t stay friends. Each appeared on the show in separate episodes to share their side of the story.
