LISTENER QUESTIONS:

Rupert Mctavish: Travelling With Electronics

I am riding across Australia at the moment, and was wondering about all the electronic stuff that seems to sneak into my panniers.
- Cameras, about three, not including the phone.
- iPad and iPhone.
- Helmet Sena thingy.
- Garmin communication doody.
- Yes, a drone. (Poor wee thing is being slowly eaten by dust)
- A Garmin watch, which tells me to “walk more steps you fat bugger”.
- A handy charging setup (which may be slightly illegal, according to an electrician mate)
- I have previously carted a somewhat expensive Dell laptop all around the world, but have left it at home for now.

Any chance you could discuss how your listeners or RAW panel look after all this stuff?
- Currently it is around 37 degrees (Celsius of course)
- Dust? Yes.
- Corrugated roads? Yes.
- Stupid black aluminium panniers? Yes.
- Humidity?
- Freezing night time temperatures?
- Don’t get me started about rain.

Nev from Melbourne Australia: How do the Authors on the Panel Prefer to Sell Their Books?

I love reading motorcycle adventure books, and have read at least one book from each of the RAW panelists. I love having physical books on bookshelves, but especially in the past couple of years, the cost of paperback books is becoming more and more expensive. I do like the support the authors and I worry about ebook sellers like Amazon skimming too much of the cream off the top from a sale, but from the authors perspective, do they prefer to sell books directly, to sell via a book retailer like Amazon or Book Depository, or via ebook sales? and financially for the author, are they any better off selling the book directly, via a reseller, or as an ebook on Amazon ? or is there little or no difference between the different sales channels?
